SAG-AFTRA announces strike against video game League of Legendsetc. Under the move, any alliance voice actors must stop working on the popular MOBA from Riot Games. Formosa Interactive was one of several high-profile video game companies with voice acting talent earlier this year. SAG-AFTRA is trying to negotiate with those developers to protect its members, including game performers, from AI replicas.
Unity today Formosa tried to “cancel” the game included in the strike. “When they were told this was not possible, they secretly transferred the game to a shell company and sent out casting notices only for ‘unattached’ talent,” according to the press release. “SAG-AFTRA charges that these serious actions are a flagrant violation of basic principles of labor law – that employers cannot interfere with performers’ rights to form or join a union and cannot discriminate against unionized performers.”
League of Legends This is just one of the names that Formosa Interactive provides services to. In addition to voice processing, Formosa Interactive also offers services such as facial imaging, sound design and mixing. Including credits in games God of War Ragnarok, Apex Legends, Genshin effect, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Microsoft flight simulator.
