Ghost of Yōtei is a Tsushima sequel coming to PS5 in 2025


2020 PlayStation hit Ghost of Tsushima gets a sequel featuring a new hero, era and setting. Yōtei’s dream Heading to PlayStation 5 in 2025.

Yōtei’s dream It stars Atsu, a new Ghost who roams the lands at the foot of Mount Yotei in Ezo in 1603 – modern day Hokkaido. This means that the sequel takes place 300 years after the events. Tsushimawhich focuses on the Mongol invasion of that region. In 1603, Yōtei was not under Japanese rule, and the debut trailer shows vast, untouched grasslands, snowy forests, and sun-drenched ridges dotted with wild flowers, with a strong breeze blowing through every scene. The trailer has a distinct cowboy twang to the music, especially when Atsu bonds with the wild horses. He also encounters a neat monster.

On it PlayStation BlogSucker Punch noted that Yōtei was not home to organized samurai clans like those in Tsushima, and said that this formed the basis of the sequel’s new, original story.

This is the first game that Sucker Punch has built from the ground up for the PS5.

“We’ve got huge sight lines that allow you to see far into the environment, an all-new sky featuring twinkling stars and auroras, more believable wind movement over grass and vegetation, and more improvements to share in the future,” said Andrew Goldfarb, communications manager at Sucker Punch. “Our new setting allows us to introduce new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and even new weapons.”
