After Sony decided to take the game offline earlier this month, the waves of Concord’s seismic explosion are still playing out. Now, the game’s director has reportedly decided to bow out gracefully. Firewalk Studios game director Ryan Ellis has told his staff that he is stepping down. Ellis co-founded Firewalk after serving as creative director Fate 2will remain in the studio, but in a supporting role.
Meanwhile, the folks at Firewalk are still waiting to hear what Sony plans to do with its underperforming game. Just two weeks after the liberation of Concord, September 6th, and a refund was issued to anyone who purchased the game for PlayStation 5 or PC from Steam and the Epic Games Store. In a statement, Sony said it was pulling the game to “explore options to better reach our players.” of course Kotaku reports that many employees of Firewalk are concerned about the state of their jobs. Concord’s a disappointing release.
Extremely poor sales Concord make it one of the biggest bombs in industrial history. Analysts estimate it sold a total of 25,000 copies on Steam and PS5 in its first six days.
