A On behalf of the five unnamed contestants participating in YouTuber MrBeast’s Animal Games A lawsuit was filed against MrBeast and Amazon, who planned to distribute the show in Los Angeles on September 16. It is also seeking class action status.
Animal Games It is the brainchild of Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast. This game show contestants went through challenges to win $5 million in cash. There will only be one winner out of 1,000 entries, so the money will only go to the last person standing.
When five contestants took part in a game show, each wanted to win money, but nothing prepared them for the bad conditions, mistreatment and harassment. Among the 14 complaints are non-payment of minimum wage, sexual harassment, false advertising, and non-interruption of meal and rest breaks.
The plaintiffs filed this lawsuit on behalf of all Animal Games contestants other than themselves. Much of the content of the lawsuit is confidential, including the names of the contestants and the exact details of their mistreatment. The experiences of female contestants drew attention. The lawyers claimed that the work environment there “fostered a culture of misogyny and sexism that the production staff did nothing about.”
The contestants were considered employees under California law, but MrBeast and Amazon misclassified them in order to receive nearly $2 million in tax credits. They also came to discover that instead of 1,000 total competitors, more people were playing for the prize, thus reducing everyone’s chances of winning. according to the total number of contestants was about 2,000, as MrBeast said, it was all a plan. Plaintiffs argued that this significantly reduced someone’s chances of winning and was considered false advertising. To make matters worse, the show’s organizers didn’t give them a meal or rest break, as required by California law. According to the lawsuit, some of the show’s participants suffered “ongoing and future injuries.”
This isn’t MrBeast’s first time in court. Last year, he sued (VDC) for producing MrBeast Burgers which damaged its reputation. VDC MrBeast is seeking $100 million in damages.
according to MrBeast and Amazon have yet to comment on the claim, with the former declining to do so. Animal GamesIntended for Amazon Prime Video release, no release date announced yet.
