September is here and so are the new iPhones like clockwork. Apple has presented its latest iPhone models event In Cupertino today, and as expected, the iPhone 16 phones are largely repeats of last year’s models. While smartphones took center stage (as usual), Apple also showed off the latest version of the Apple Watch and two new pairs of AirPods. The company also detailed the latest mobile chipset powering the new iPhones, reminding people what to expect. iOS 18 starting at the end of this month. iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
Apple introduced a new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus At the event, it features a water- and dust-resistant design and new colors including ultramarine, teal and pink. There’s also a new easy-to-reach camera control “knob” that lets you quickly access and control the camera with the swipe of your finger. Users can also use this tool to login Visual IntelligenceAn AI-powered feature coming in iOS 18 can tell you more about everything you point the camera at. It’s similar to Google Lens and can do things like add live event dates to your calendar after you point your camera at a flyer you see on the street. The camera lineup on standard iPhone 16 models includes a 48-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a new ultra-wide camera with autofocus. This array will also be able to capture spatial photos that can be viewed on Apple’s Vision Pro.
Both standard iPhone 16 models work on the new model A18 chiphas a 16-core neural engine optimized for generative models. The internals include a 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU, both of which will be crucial to powering all the new Apple Intelligence features coming to iOS 18.
According to Apple, both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have larger batteries than their predecessors, and when combined with the added efficiency from the A18 chipset and iOS 18 improvements, it should result in longer overall battery life (although Apple hasn’t given an exact estimate). . Both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are available for pre-order today starting at $799 and $899, respectively, and will be widely available on September 20.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
The Pro series of iPhones this year includes the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch ProMotion, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max with always-on displays, respectively. Both are made from Grade 5 titanium, which Apple claims is lighter than stainless steel. These phones will be available in four new colors: black, white, natural and desert, the latter of which looks like a dusty gold color.
According to the company, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence, which can take full advantage of all the new features coming in iOS 18. These phones run on the new A18 Pro chipset. It uses 3nm transistors and is faster and more efficient than the standard A18 chip found in the regular iPhone 16 series.
AirPods 4
AirPods 4 as rumored, it was unveiled today during the iPhone 16 event. These new buds feature a redesigned bud shape that’s supposed to fit more ear shapes better and be more comfortable overall. They contain the H2 chip, which will provide improved sound quality and enable features such as Personal Spatial Audio. The charging case has a USB-C port, making it the smallest AirPods charging case to date.
In addition to the regular AirPods 4, there will be a second model that supports active noise cancellation and Transparency mode. Conversation Awareness will also automatically lower the media volume when the buds detect that you’ve started talking to someone. The standard AirPods 4 cost $129, while the AirPods 4 with ANC cost $179; both are available for pre-order today and will be widely available on September 20th.
AirPods Max new colors
Apple didn’t reinvent the wheel with the updated AirPods Max. Instead, they’ll come in a few new colors and support USB-C charging. The new colors are available for pre-order today for $549 and will be widely available on September 20th.
AirPods Pro new hearing features
Apple has announced new features on its second-generation AirPods Pro designed to prevent hearing loss and increase awareness. A feature called “Hearing Protection” will be enabled by default, and users will be able to take a clinically validated hearing test to check if they already have hearing loss. In addition, AirPods Pro will have a built-in hearing aid function and will work with a hearing profile created after the user passes a hearing test.
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple introduced Apple Watch Series 10 today is the natural successor to last year’s Series 9. It has the largest display and thinnest design ever on an Apple Watch, and the wide-angle OLED display is even slightly larger than the Apple Watch Ultra. The case has more rounded corners and a wider aspect ratio, both of which, along with the larger screen, should provide more room for interacting with graphics and text on the watch. Apple claims the screen is 40 percent brighter when viewed from an angle, and will show a second hand even when your wrist is down.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is powered by the new S10 SiP, which Apple claims is built for performance, energy efficiency and intelligence (i.e. Apple Intelligence). One example of Apple Intelligence at work in the Series 10 is the new Photos watch face, which will select the best photos from your library and present them to you automatically.
As for the fitness features, Apple announced that the latest version of watchOS will allow the Series 10 to detect signs of sleep apnea, provided you wear the Series 10 to sleep regularly. Apple claims it is awaiting FDA approval and expects the sleep apnea detection feature to be available in more than 150 countries. Elsewhere in the action sphere, the Series 10 will have underwater tracking features and will support the new Tides app in watchOS 11.
Another new feature is the ability to play audio directly from the Watch’s speaker, which can be useful if you don’t have AirPods or another pair of Bluetooth headphones handy. The Apple Watch Series 10 will be available in a new polished, black aluminum finish and a polished titanium finish in silver, gold, and slate gray. It’s available for pre-order today and will be widely available on September 20th.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 new finish
While the next iteration of the Apple Watch Ultra has been heavily rumored, the company didn’t reveal the third-generation sports watch today. Instead, Apple introduced a new color for the Apple Watch Ultra 2: satin black. There’s also a new Milan band to accompany the new Hermès finishes and the new satin black finish.
