Chrysler’s parent company, Stellantis, has recalled 2019 and 2021-2024 Ram 1500 pickup trucks due to a software issue with the anti-lock braking system. According to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a faulty anti-lock braking system can “disable the electronic stability control system,” which in turn can increase the risk of a crash.
The recall covers approximately 1.46 million vehicles worldwide. It is reported that the vast majority of them are in the United States. Notices will be mailed to owners in early October, NHTSA says, and they will need to bring their trucks to dealers to have the ABS control module software updated.
