Instagram Stories are getting comments

Publishes comments for Instagram Stories. Previously, short-lived Stories could only be answered in direct messages. This new feature offers users a more visible way to interact with their friends’ posts. The original poster will not accept comments in DM; “Comments live only in your Story,” a representative from Meta said.

Story comments can be turned on or off for any individual post. If enabled, comments can be seen by anyone who follows the account, but only mutuals can post comments. As with the story type, comments will disappear after 24 hours. Thumbnails of commenters will appear below the person’s Story icon, so you’ll know comments have been added before you tap to view the post.

People can still respond to Stories by DM if the user’s account is set to receive those messages. There’s also the option to send a DM as a reply to a story comment, which you can do by swiping left on the text and tapping the DM icon.

Instagram is giving users more ways to spice up their Stories. Can be created with posts get or use an increasing number .
