A few years ago, Hyundai introduced a wild EV supercar concept N Vision 74 made by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiario. Now it looks like the car will go into production in some form, according to a series of slides from the company investor day presentation.
a slide show At the launch, Hyundai unveiled its full EV lineup, including 21 models to be launched by 2030. Along with the affordable Casper, mass-market Hyundai and luxury Genesis brands, it introduced the high-performance Hyundai N (vision 74). EV, which also carries the Genesis Magma brand.
The next slide mentions “N Motorsports Heritage Heritage” and adds that it’s a “high-performance EV that delivers consistent driving pleasure and experience.” The luxury Genesis brand will soon include “high-end EVs,” with both the N and Genesis models based on the current Ioniq EV lineup.
Late last year, Engine 1 While denying the rumours, Hundai has stated that the N Vision 74 will be produced in a very limited number of only 100 road and 30 racing models.
The original N Vision 74 concept promised a 62.4-kWh battery pack with an 85-kWh hydrogen-powered fuel cell stack with a 10-pound fuel tank for a range of about 373 miles. It has two rear electric motors that produce 670 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai seems to have dropped the hydrogen part of the concept, as the Hundai N (vision 74) is only described as a high-performance EV.
If you think the N-model looks like a DeLorean, you’re in for something like Giugiario’s legendary 80s supercar. Other notables from the Italian designer include the Lotus Esprit, the Maserati Quattroporte and Nikon’s F3 SLR camera.
