If you have an account with Comcast Xfinity, then you also have a one-year subscription to the Perplexity Pro AI answer engine. Perplexity announced a special deal Topics. Perplexity Pro differs from the company’s free option by providing unlimited quick responses from a selection of AI models, including the GPT-4o, Claude-3 and Sonar Large. Engadget hasn’t reviewed the service, but if you’re already paying for Xfinity, free seems like a good price to make up your own mind about its value.
All you have to do to get your free year of Confusion is log in to your account Xfinity Rewards account and get a promo code. You will enter your code Perplexity site and you can start using artificial intelligence to explore life’s most perplexing mysteries: “Who was that guy playing squirrel friend Office space?” (For the record, this was Stephen Root and his character Milton).
A Perplexity Pro subscription usually costs $20, but if you take advantage of Comcast Xfinity, you’ll get an entire year for free. You may still want to take Confusion’s answers with a large grain of salt. Media company Condé Nast accused the company and the online retail giant of plagiarism Amazonwhich hosts some of Perplexity’s infrastructure, investigated whether the AI company’s actions were within its terms of service. So it’s not exactly call confirmation for Perplexity Pro, but it’s still free, so you could do a lot worse. Too bad.
