Labor Day is coming up, so the deals are on the way. The Walmart Labor Day sale includes a Ninja Creami ice cream maker for $150. which is also a $50 discount. This isn’t the lowest price we’ve seen for the innovative gadget, but it’s close.
This is not your ordinary ice cream maker as we mentioned in our article Ninja Creamy Review. The design is based on high-end machines found in restaurants. Until recently, the technology was strictly patent-protected. After that patent expired, Ninja took the technology and here we are.
But what makes it different? Cream does not burn in the traditional sense. You make a liquid base, freeze it for 24 hours, and then the machine uses a drill-like mechanism to mix everything up. The result is something akin to soft serve ice cream with options for sorbets and other frozen desserts.
It comes with a two-pint-sized container for storage, so you’ll always have ice cream on hand to scream at. Compared to competing ice cream makers, the form factor is also smaller due to the lack of a traditional mixing mechanism. It is tall enough, but not too wide.
The ice cream made by this machine is very tasty, although it has a few downsides. It’s loud in use, but not louder than a blender. The noise also lasts for several minutes. The machine produces a softer product than competing ice cream makers, so it’s best to eat it or return it to the freezer as soon as possible. Otherwise, you’ll be looking at a slightly thick milky liquid.
