Indiegogo has just launched Shipping guarantee program to assure buyers that they will buy their products. There used to be no guarantee that you would get the product you supported, but now that’s all changing. The program will be open to companies with a proven track record on a crowdfunding platform. Having a history of successful campaigns will help increase the chances of being approved for the program. The program is a step from the program “Proven with confidence” badge since two years ago, it is a testament to consistent performance, positive supporter ratings and exemplary campaign management.
Under the Indiegogo Shipping Guarantee Program Frequently asked questions pagethe campaign must be reviewed by the platform’s Trust and Security team to be eligible. All products must also be “in the final stage of production”.
The first campaign under this program is HoverAIR X1 PRO and X1 PRO MAX flying action cameras. As seen on the campaign product page, there is a “Shipping Guarantee” badge. Backers of the project will get their money back if the drones are not shipped by October 31, 2024.
Note that backers are required to complete surveys sent by campaign owners to be eligible for the protection program. So if you simply forgot to fill in your shipping information, don’t complain – if customer service doesn’t help you, you’ll be on your own.
I once endorsed Status Audio among Pro headphones years ago, and while they arrived safely, many stories of failed campaigns over the years kept me (and no doubt other potential buyers) wary.
