Apple just introduced an improved way for podcast listeners to stream shows from their library on any device. Apple Podcasts version starting today on the internet more similar to the company’s appearance and features independent program. Not only is the platform accessible on any device via the web, but you’ll get more tools than just playing episodes – even if you don’t have the app installed on your desktop or mobile.
You’ll be able to do this through the web interface, which looks just like the one you see in the full app review showsaccess your library, view top charts, purchase subscriptions, and more. Apple Podcasts on the web syncs everything with your Apple account, so play in progress, favorite shows and subscriptions are updated across devices. If you don’t have access to Apple, the company says you’ll be able to browse and listen, but that’s about it. Before that, you could listen to podcasts on the web, but you didn’t have access to your library or any of the advanced tools that most users want from the service.
Apple says web-enhanced podcasts are available in “all major web browsers,” including Safari, Chrome, Edge and FireFox, in more than 170 countries.
