The Plucky Squire has been one of mine most anticipated games since it started showing up in storefronts a few years ago. it happened Postponed after 2023 Unfortunately this year, however, the long wait to play it is almost over. Publisher Devolver Digital and developer All Possible Futures revealed that The Plucky Squire Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on September 17th. It will be available on the first day for Extra and Premium members in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog at no additional cost.
The action revolves around a storybook. After the evil Humgrump realizes that his tale is the villain, he plucks the titular squire (aka Jot) from the pages to change the story. Jot must navigate 3D and 2D environments as he bounces between planes on his journey to save his friends and ensure the saga has a happy ending.
The visuals look absolutely stunning in both 2D and 3D formats. It’s like a mix of top-down Zelda games, modern day Mario and LittleBigPlanet. The first project from All Possible Futures (one of whose leaders is a former Pokémon artist) is an absurdly promising project. Can’t wait to check it out next month.
Meanwhile, Sony revealed some new details about several other indie games.
