Activision is finally addressing those massive Call of Duty download sizes

Activision is finally taking some steps to stop the Call of Duty games to fill hard disk space. The games are huge, but the company is going to lighten the load a bit more than before October 25 issue Black operation 6.

How will this work? That’s a big change War zone separates from the rest of the standard download games for yearly titles. This change is happening on August 21st, with the start of Reloaded Season 5, and should actually help a lot. War zone is huge (about 130 GB) and it can be frustrating even for those who are not into the battle royale style mode.

In fact, when people buy an annual title in the near future, they will only download the files for that game. Hard drives everywhere suddenly have a little spring in their step. Of course, the masochist among us will still be able to join and add War zone game files with any purchase.

This isn’t the only action Activision is taking, though it’s probably the most important. The company is also expanding the use of invoice flow starting in the upcoming War zone update. This means users won’t have to download everything directly to their hard drives, as developers will “stream cache less frequently used content by gamers.”

However, the developers warn that this may result in some of this content appearing in lower quality until the streaming cache is fully loaded. For this purpose, there are many settings for this feature. Finally, the upcoming PS5 downloads will be split into multiple parts, many of which can be downloaded ahead of time. These downloads also include file optimizations to further reduce the size.

As stated earlier, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 It will be released on consoles and PC on October 26 It will be available on Game Pass from the date of issue.
