X adds passkey logins for Android users


X today it is rolling out support for toggle switches in the Android app. The social media platform formerly known as Twitter has introduced this security option for iOS users then in January in April.

In the past year, switches have started to appear as an option from tech companies and online services. We have the details but in short, this approach creates a digital authentication credential to protect the account. This is a stronger alternative to passwords that can be guessed or stolen. Even have moved to offer a toggle switch option for customers.

You will still need a password to create an account for X users. But once you enter the app, you need to click on some menu options toggle switch. This is listed under “Additional password protection” on the Security tab.
