YouTube announced it first community notes feature in June. The new feature allows viewers to submit short bulletins that provide additional context or correct information on certain video content. The community notes feature is ahead of the US presidential election.
There is no official launch date for the new feature, but YouTube has added a section for it its “Help” database with instructions for writing and submitting notes. We’ve also reached out to Google for comment on the new feature.
According to the support page, the pilot program is currently only in English for mobile devices in the US. The company previously said it would invite participants via email or Creator Studios account. Selected test subjects will provide feedback to YouTube to determine which comments are “useful,” “somewhat helpful,” or “unhelpful” to the platform before rolling out the community notes feature to the public. official YouTube blog.
