Microsoft is dropping ads from Skype


As shown in a, Skype is ad-free . The latest update removes all ads from the entire platform, including Skype channels and the main chat interface. Microsoft said the move was in response to feedback and an attempt to make the “Skype experience cleaner and more user-friendly.” This is certainly good news for every company .

Skype’s “today” section will remain with the pre-existing news feed. There just won’t be any ads to accompany that feed. Users can also remove the news feed tab by going to the settings menu.

This update also includes a little something . Skype will offer an updated AI rendering system in its desktop app. This allows people to access the image creator from the chat window or the top bar. It has a “more intuitive and visually appealing” interface, and images expand when clicked. Otherwise, it’s just your standard image creator.

Finally, the latest update brings OneAuth authenticator integration to the iOS app. It was already available on Android. OneAuth replaces the old sign-in system, so users will be signed in automatically if they’re already signed in to other Microsoft apps like Teams. This is quite handy because we have a lot of passwords around our skulls. Who among us can remember how many numbers or exclamation points followed the same word we’ve used as a password since 2002?

The update is available to everyone , if you are not, please register. It’s starting to roll out today, but it will take a few days to reach every user. Microsoft urges consumers to continue checking if it doesn’t appear immediately.
