Ayaneo’s Pocket MICRO, Nintendo’s notable contribution to the GameBoy Micro, is now available for pre-order. . The portable console maker launched a crowdfunding campaign for the small, rectangular gaming device this morning and has already raised more than $50,000 on its opening day.
Ayaneo was the first to reveal it back in May. The lineup included the Pocket MICRO and Pocket DMG, a GameBoy-like console with a left thumbstick and touchpad.
The Pocket MICRO may be smaller than the DMG, but it offers some features that its big brother doesn’t, like dual thumbsticks and a 960 x 640 borderless IPS display. The pocket console frame is made of premium CNC aluminum alloy and is powered by a Helio G99 processor and a 2600 mAH battery that can power up to 6 hours of gaming. .
Pocket MICRO is available for pre-order at “early bird prices” during the first week of the campaign. You can buy the Pocket MICRO in one of three tiers: 6G+128G Pocket Micro “Magic Black” or “Soul Red” for $190, 8GB+256GB Pocket Micro in black or red for $220, and 8G+256GB “Retro Grey” For $250. Shipping is $30 per item and will accept orders of 400 for the first two tiers and 200 for the third tier.
“Early bird” orders also come with a special gift box containing a coffee mug, portable storage bag, portable stand, tempered screen film, joystick cover and a pack of Ayaneo stickers. After the one-week “early bird” campaign ends, prices increase by $30.
Ayaneo is known for its premium portable consoles and Steam Deck competitors, and this GameBoy Advance variant competes with many other devices under $100. However, this new portable Android gaming device can give real competition to its dual counterparts, which can play games from all kinds of consoles and streaming services.
