According to Gurman, Apple plans to introduce Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 by October. It’s not all bad news: Beta data for some AI features will reportedly be available to developers this week.
It’s a bit disappointing though – just like my experience with the initial beta iOS 18. Many of the most interesting software features require the power of Apple Intelligence.
When the company’s idea for artificial intelligence finally arrives, it may not offer everything teased at WWDC: AI-powered Siri should come later.

A new government program distributes federal funds through states to encourage internet service providers (ISPs) to offer lower rates for low-income customers.
However, a letter to US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, signed by more than 30 broadband industry trade groups, including ACA Connects and the Fiber Broadband Association, expresses “both excitement and urgency” about their ability to participate in the program. He argues that a fixed rate of $30 per month for high-speed Internet access is “completely out of step with the economic realities of deploying and operating networks in the highest-cost, hardest-to-reach areas.”
