You can date everything in Date Everything!

Have you ever looked at something like a dining table or height-adjustable desk in your home and wondered what it would be like to go on a date with it? Also, were you sober at the time? The new dating sim game is called History for everything! with what you see almost every day (in the purest way possible, of course) will let you see what it’s like to look for real, meaningful love.

The surreal-sounding dating sim comes from an LA-based studio called Sassy Chap Games, created by a group of voice actors who have worked on games and shows like the dating sim. Critical Role, HiFi-Rush, One Punch Man, Final Fantasy XV, X-Men ’97 and Genshin effect. Indie game publisher Team17 will distribute the game on Steam for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The game puts players in the role of a lonely heart who buys special glasses called “Dateviator” that turn objects in their home into candidates for human encounters. For example, the vacuum cleaner turns into a skinny heartthrob named Hoove, and the laundry hamper turns into a fiery redhead named Harper. History for everything! There are 100 possible companions in your home with their own voices, styles and personalities.

You recognize things like the refrigerator or the living room piano in human form. Depending on how things go, relationships can end in one of three ways: Love, Friend, or Hate. These connections create a chain of different possible pathways where choices affect the outcome along a “critical path that connects everything,” the press release says.
