When Reddit said last month that it would prevent unauthorized data from being deleted from its site, most of us assumed it was to address chatbot training. The site/service/fandom battleground also appears blocking of search engines Aside from Brave and Google, the latter reportedly signed a $60 million annual deal with Reddit earlier this year.
A Reddit spokesperson told Engadget that the empty search results are because these engines don’t agree with the company’s AI training requirements. The company says it is in discussions with several of them. Bing and DuckDuckGo are both affected.

Last week’s CrowdStrike outage plunged many companies into the confusing world of blue screens of death. Cyber security company Uber Eats tried to apologize with a gift card. Unfortunately, when people tried to use it, the offer was taken down by the party that made it. CrowdStrike said Uber flagged it as a scam because of its high usage rates.
CrowdStrike blamed the global outage on a load loop bug that knocked out systems at banks, airports and even hospitals.
