New PS5 update makes it easier to join multiplayer games

Anyone with a PlayStation 5 should now have a smoother option to connect with other players. Sony has officially released a system firmware update that lets you create shareable links invite others to a multiplayer game. Company announced the feature for the first time in early May.

New PS5 update It works by providing a link that can be shared with anyone, even if you’re not friends in the app Game station Network. A QR code appears next to the link, though Sony warns that you’ll need to update several of your games for the new feature to work. One of the best things about this tool is that the invitation is not immediately time-sensitive, so the link will still get the recipient into your game 10 or 30 minutes after the time it was sent, while you’re still playing. If you send the link to Discord, a widget should appear to let you know if people are still playing or have quit.

Along with the new sharing method, there’s another update that lets you unlock Game Help action cards Voice command. All you need to do is say “Show game help” and it should open. However, Voice Command (Preview) is currently only available in English for players with PlayStation Network accounts in the US and UK.
