Overwatch 2 then fans who are already jonesing for something new the ultimate Transformers crossover won’t have to wait long. Blizzard has spilled a lot about the next hero coming to the game, and you’ll be able to try it out this weekend.
Her name is Juno and she is support. The publisher teased this hero Back to BlizzCon 2023 (when he was only referred to as Space Ranger) and in the game for the past few weeks. Now his spaceship has landed on this colorful version of near-future Earth – Juno is the game’s first playable Martian character.
The gameplay trailer gives an idea of Juno’s abilities and how they work. His main weapon is called the Mediblaster. It appears to work similarly to Mother’s Biotic Rifle, as it can heal allies and deal damage to enemies, though it’s unclear if each has a different firing mode. One of his abilities, Pulsar Torpedoes, can also lock onto multiple targets to deal healing and damage.
Unlike Ana, Juno is transitive. With Glide Boost, he can fly through the air. He can also temporarily grant himself and his teammates increased speed – and possibly the ability to jump higher – thanks to the Hyper Ring.
As for Juno’s endpoint, it’s called the Orbital Ray. It’s a beam from a satellite that moves around the map, healing allies and increasing damage. Exactly how all the abilities work hasn’t been revealed, so we’ll likely have to hold off until Juno comes to the game for a full drop.
Fortunately, it will be a short wait. Juno will be available in all modes except Competitive for the trial weekend, which runs from July 19th to July 21st. The unlimited mode will be in the Arcade, so we’ll likely see two teams of five Junos go head-to-head. players understand the new year.
I rarely play anything other than Mystery Heroes, usually as a support, so I can’t wait to try out Juno. As long as it was intelligently balanced, it made for a great look and a great set. Juno will join the lineup as a regular in season 12 Overwatch 2 begins on August 20.
