The sudden and tragic death of Kevin Conroy, the respected voice actor who voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne. Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Arkham games and died in 2022 at the age of 66, I somehow felt worse about the omission . Rocksteady’s disappointing open-world DC Comics game was pretty much the last time Conroy voiced The Dark Knight and the evil Batman. Even if the game was good, it wouldn’t be right to let Conroy’s credit list end on such a low note.
Thankfully, the new Animated trilogy based on Warner Bros Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths It will be Conroy’s final voice-over appearance as Batman in the DC comics series. found its way to X yesterday.
Conroy’s final voiceover occurs in the final film of the trilogy. If you don’t want to know how it ends before you have a chance to watch the whole thing, you should stop scrolling down now.

The whole scene feels like a purposeful nod and homage to Conroy and his contributions to animated and pixelated Batman. The scene begins with a flash of lightning as the virtual camera descends towards Batman. He stands in a building overlooking Gotham City, just like in the opening credits Batman: The Animated SeriesThe 90’s midday television cartoon first lent Conroy’s voice to the character of Batman.
The Joker, voiced by Troy Baker, chases after Bats and tries to punch him, but fails. He knocks Joker down and Joker says with a smile, “I’m flattered. The end of the world and you wanted to spend it with me. I didn’t know you cared.”
Some kind of destructive force engulfs the city and the sky. Before the world explodes, Batman says, “All I care about is the Joker, Gotham, justice, and if it has to end, at least I’m out. To be Batman.”
We also had to include the Kleenex warning because it’s such a touching way to honor Conroy and his legacy in the Batman series.
