Amazon Prime Day it’s finally here, and you can get great deals on most of Amazon’s own devices. It’s on a note Echo Show 5, you can get it right now for just $50. That’s just a few dollars more than the previous record low. The Echo Show 8 is also trading at $85, a new record low.
The Echo Show 5 easily made our list the best smart displays, for many reasons. The 5.5-inch screen is smaller, especially compared to the Echo Show 8, but that just makes it fit better on a desk or nightstand. For this purpose, it acts as a fantastic alarm clock. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness, which is a nice way to wake up, and the snooze function lets you get a few more minutes (or hours) of precious sleep.

It has a camera that’s great for simple video calls, but raises some privacy concerns. To solve this problem, Amazon ships this screen with a physical camera cover. Simply open the cover when you’re not using the camera.
It’s not a perfect smart display, but it’s great for the price. The main downside of the Echo Show 5 is that the speakers aren’t as powerful as those on larger smart displays. This is not a deal. It’s still pretty loud, but you probably won’t use it to power a dance party.
