Meta, the parent company of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, has decided to remove restrictions on former President Donald Trump’s accounts.
Meta The presumptive Republican presidential nominee updated his original statement announcing the end of Trump’s Facebook and Instagram suspension in January 2023 to reflect his new online status. Axios reported first in the news.
Following the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, Meta removed Trump from all of its platforms under “extreme and highly unusual circumstances,” according to Meta’s original statement.

Two years later, Meta reinstated Trump’s accounts after they were suspended for a period of time with harsher penalties for violating the terms of service, a higher standard than any other user on Facebook and Instagram. Meta noted in his latest update that the ex-president will be held to the same standards as everyone else.
