Samsung (finally, properly) launches the Galaxy Ring

Horse Samsung Galaxy UnlockSamsung announced today Galaxy Ring, a finger wearable device that powers the ecosystem of health tracking devices. Yes, it is the third or the fourth when it was announced, but today is the day you can pre-order. This is a conscious attempt to corner a market that is held by many smaller players in the space, especially Oura Ring. You will also get regular AI wow ideas to help you take better care of your body when you think things aren’t going well.

The company boasts that it has packed its existing sensor technology into the smaller space provided by the ring. It carries an accelerometer, PPG/heart rate and skin temperature sensor that will feed data to Samsung Health to create a portrait of your body. In the app, you will be able to view your sleep score, how much you move during sleep, your heart rate and breathing rate, as well as your menstrual cycle. The Total Energy Score will track how well you’re feeling each day and make suggestions on what to change.

You’ll also benefit from Heart Rate Alerts if your recording is too slow or too fast, alerting you to avoid any problems. There are table-to-table elements too, such as automatic machine detection and alerts when the ring doesn’t think you’ve moved enough late. Not to mention the ring can be used as a remote shutter release for your Galaxy smartphone.
