Microsoft is adding a cheaper option with Xbox Game Pass Standard in September. This plan offers access to Game Pass titles without some of the benefits of the Ultimate package, such as day one releases and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The standard option includes online multiplayer, some store discounts, and all the other features of the Basic plan. It will cost $15 per month in the US.
The latest change appears to be the beginning of the end for the Xbox Game Pass for Console plan. This option will no longer be available to new customers, and any current plan holders who opt out of their auto-renewal will need to choose another option if they wish to re-subscribe.
This is the latest in a series of sad news about Game Pass.
