I recently went to a museum that had a number of iPods and first generation iPhones on display – it was terrifying. Now, to my shock, Apple is responsible, thanks to the new stuff it has added list of old and obsolete products On July 1. The technology giant put the first generation HomePod in the list of grape products. Apple typically labels a product “vintage” when it’s been out of distribution for at least five years — but only Apple Stopped HomePod three years ago. These products can still be repaired as long as spare parts are available.
Apple first announced the HomePod in June 2017 and released it the following February for $349. The device offered an A8 chip, high-quality audio and compatibility with the Apple ecosystem such as AirPlay.
The first-generation HomePod isn’t the only notable addition to the vintage list. Apple has announced its original AirPods as a vintage item. AirPods it first hit the scene in December 2016 for $159 and has since evolved into several generations and a Pro model. After seven years, Apple will label both the first-generation HomePod and AirPods as obsolete, meaning the company will stop all hardware services for them.
