Samsung’s latest The Unpacked event will begin on July 10. The company has already released its latest flagship phones this year and introduced the S24 family. But now it’s time for its spin-off smartphones: foldables. That and the long-teased Galaxy Ring. The tiny wearable is slated to arrive “in or around August,” so it would be more of a surprise if the device didn’t show up at Unpacked. The ring will measure heart rate, movement and respiration to help track your sleep.
I expect the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 to appear, although with minor tweaks it can’t guarantee an upgrade from last year’s foldable devices. However, rumors suggest that Samsung may use the same 50MP camera as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 on the Flip 6, which traditionally has less powerful cameras than other Samsung flagships.
In addition to all this, Samsung will offer updated smartwatches and possibly an update to its wireless buds. (Yes, there have been leaks.) Samsung is set to emulate Apple’s AirPods by nipping the root design in the bud. It’s funny, because when Samsung showed off the Galaxy Buds Live in 2020, it suggested that there was no “awkward root.”
