There’s a new Bluetooth tracking option for clueless Android owners: Motorola today opened Moto Tag. The company did not reveal an exact release date for the device, but said it will be available in “select markets in the coming months.” We do not have any pricing information yet.
Moto Tag works on Google’s Find My Device infrastructure for both location data and privacy protection. It’s not so good if a tracker stops working, and Motorola claims the Moto Tag will last a year on a single battery charge under optimal conditions. Clearly acknowledging that the design of these trackers has already been standardized, Motorola’s release noted that the Moto Tag is compatible with “most third-party accessories on the market.” So if you’re using AirTags or one of the similarly shaped Bluetooth trackers on the market, the Moto Tag should work with your existing case. It could be a great option for anyone interested in buying one from the company new folding phones who want to keep their technology in a single brand.
