Beyerdynamic debuts its first open-ear true wireless headphones

Several audio companies they jumped the open headphones, a headphone design in which the speaker sits outside the listener’s ear rather than inside it. Beyerdynamic is the latest to offer this listening option with the VERIO 200, the brand’s first set of open-ear true wireless headphones. The kit costs $220 and can be ordered today.

Open-ear headphones may come with some sacrifices in sound quality, but this set has a dedicated 16.22mm graphene driver. The use of lightweight graphene in the speakers can reduce sound distortion, so the premium material can help negate the usual performance ratio with this style. If you don’t enjoy the usual in-ear headphone experience, the open-ear approach may also be more comfortable. And you’ll be able to hear your surroundings better with this design, something that can be important for people who wear these outdoors. VERIO 200 even has a hook design to keep the headphones secure during physical activity.
