Considering the Space A40 has features you’d find in headphones costing twice as much, we already feel they offer great value, so it’s a pretty solid deal. The headphones are lightweight and we think they should be comfortable to wear for long periods of time. You won’t hear as much detail as you get from higher-end options, but that’s to be expected. What you’ll get is an all-around warm sound profile that does a decent job in the low end.

If you want to put more weight on the bass or treble, you’ll be able to adjust the EQ settings in the Soundcore app. You can also customize the touch controls through the app.

In terms of durability, these headphones have an IPX4 rating for water resistance, which is at least enough to protect them from everyday sweat and light rain. It is possible to connect them to two devices at the same time, and you can use each headset independently. Battery life isn’t bad either, as the buds will last for around eight hours before you need to pop them back into the charging case (there’s support for wireless charging and can charge the earbuds for another 40 hours or more of listening time).

The Space A40’s best feature is its active noise cancellation (ANC), which provides excellent performance for headphones at this price. There’s adaptive ANC technology that adjusts the intensity of the noise cancellation depending on your environment, though it won’t completely block out louder sounds. You can also adjust the ANC level manually. There is also a transparency mode which is decent enough.

While phone calls are possible with these headphones, the microphone quality is not great. The lack of auto-pause when you remove the headset is also a disappointment. Still, these are relatively minor complaints for a set of headphones that are great value.
