Some Cybertruck buyers scheduled to receive their new trucks this week have been told they will have to wait a little longer as the company addresses a safety issue with the windshield wiper motor. Tesla has not publicly confirmed such problems or issued an official recall, but numerous commenters have Cybertruck Owners Club forum and Reddit said they were notified that deliveries had been suspended and pickup dates had been pushed back a week.
This follows reports from Cybertruck owners who say the windshield wiper failed on them, in some of them cases immediately after the truck was picked up. Tesla previously had to stop deliveries of the Cybertruck when it was released this spring recall due to faulty gas pedals that could get stuck. The problem affected approximately 3,878 Cybertruck vehicles. In this case, the fix was simple enough (installing a rivet) and delivery was soon restored.
