A few days before Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2024), Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman provided the latest round of party-spoiling details. Biggest acquisition: Apple will rebrand its long-rumored AI game Apple Intelligence. (Leave it to Apple to find a way to redefine the term “AI.”) Don’t expect the company to lean into generative AI features as much as its rivals. According to Gurman, Apple’s AI capabilities will focus on features with “broad appeal” — something I’ve read is more practical than creating on-demand mental images.

Bloomberg also notes that the AI capabilities will be mostly connected, and we can expect Apple to showcase its security capabilities as it will also use a combination of on-device and cloud connectivity.
