It’s WWDC, so there will be program oriented event. Apple is likely to reveal many key features of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Also, we can get updates for watchOS, macOS and even the operating system visionOS. Vision Pro headset.
This is Apple, so the rumor mill spins at a feverish pace. The whole world has gone AI crazy, with varying degrees of success, but Apple remained largely mum on the technology. Given the current technological climate, it’s probably sooner rather than later. WWDC would be the perfect place to reveal what the company is working on.
To that end, Apple is developing its own AI chatbot, which is likely an update to Siri. Rumor has it that the technology isn’t ready yet, so Siri will remain a decent enough alarm clock for now. However, the company has partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into iOS 18. according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. If Gurman is right, and he usually is, we’ll see something about it. An improved Siri will likely be mentioned, but won’t be on devices until at least early 2025.
As for software updates, iOS 18 is finally here Bring RCS support to messages. This messaging protocol offers end-to-end encryption and better media sharing. It will also improve text compatibility with Android devices. Rumors suggest that Apple Music may get an OpenAI-powered tool that automatically creates playlists, and Notes may get a voice recording option. Other apps like Mail, Fitness, and Health are expected to get new features, but no details are available as of this writing.
There’s also the ever-appealing “one more thing.” Last year, the company used WWDC Officially introduced Vision Pro. Apple won’t be introducing a new device category this year, the AVP was the first since the Apple Watch, but the Vision Pro should be a global availability announcement and some updated features.
Despite the launch of last year’s Vision Pro, we don’t expect much hardware news. It’s possible we’ll get a new Apple TV streaming box and, if we’re lucky, an update to AirPods Max with USB-C. Don’t get your hopes up for new tablets or laptops, as Apple has recently released both iPads and MacBooks – although Apple may release the newly released M4 chip in the MacBook Pro. The Mac mini and Mac Studio are also overdue for an update. However, it is possible to not get any of the above. There won’t be any new iPhones until September, and the same goes for the Apple Watch.
