The second generation Apple Pencil is a stylus accessory It was put back on sale for $79, which means a discount of about 40 percent. Considering the regular price is around $130, that’s quite a deal. Why Apple decided to pay over $100 for magnetic pens in the first place is another conversation entirely, but at least now there’s a sale.
It’s a fantastic accessory and perfect for several iPad models, but we have to address the elephant in the room. Here’s Apple’s stylus lineup something confusing. The company makes four different Apple Pencils, and choosing the best one for your particular tablet can be difficult. For example, the new Pencil Pro only compatible with the latest iPad Airs and iPad Pros.
Therefore, this second generation Apple Pencil is not compatible for newly released tablets. As long as the design predates those with front-facing cameras on the long edge, this is the model to get if you’re using an older iPad Pro or Air. It’s also a good match for the current iPad mini. Finally, it’s likely that every Apple tablet going forward will have a redesign similar to the latest Air and Pro, so buy this stylus if you’re not planning on upgrading your tablet anytime soon.
If you meet the above criteria, the second generation Apple Pencil is a comfortable and very useful stylus. It features tilt and pressure sensitivity, magnetic charging, wireless pairing, and a lightweight form factor. It’s miles better than the average Amazon knockoff, with no lag. Before you know it, you’ll be pulling thin slices of pizza and cats.
