Apple’s 10th generation iPad became a much better value after permanent $100 off price earlier this month, and now a new discount has made it even more affordable. The 10.9-inch tablet retails for $300 on Amazon, the lowest price we’ve ever seen. Just note that you’ll need to clip the coupon on the page to see the full discount, and the deal only applies to blue and silver as of this writing. For reference, Apple is selling the slate for $349, though we previously saw it drop to $330 a few weeks ago.

All of these offers are available At Costco also, but only for subscribers to that vendor’s membership plan. (Amazon’s deals are likely price matches.) Costco’s listing says the sale runs through May 31.

The latter is somewhat standard, as it’s the only iPad available for less than $350. Still, it’s a great tablet for the money. It has a similar design to the more expensive one iPad Air, with a bright display, pure aluminum frame, thin bezels, Touch ID reader and USB-C port. Its battery life is around 10 hours, and the A14 Bionic chip remains fast enough for what most people do with their iPad, whether it’s streaming Netflix, playing a casual game, or doing basic work. Like Apple’s more expensive tablets, its front-facing camera is on its long edge, a more natural location for group FaceTime calls.
To be clear, if be able we think it’s worth it if you buy one of the new iPad Airs. These are available in 11- and 13-inch sizes and include a number of enhancements that add to a more enjoyable experience. These include a faster and future-proof M2 chip, double the RAM and standard storage, and a laminated display (which means there’s no visible “gap” between the front glass and the screen itself). Weather is also compatible with better accessories, e.g the new Pencil Pro stylus. Here you are limited to the cheaper one USB-C PenA non-pressure sensitive or old first generation Pen requires one confusion of adapters to fill If you can find a the latest generation iPad Air on the cheap before it’s completely sold out, it should remain even better value. Still, if you just want a tablet for the basics and want to spend as little as possible, the entry-level model gets you the basic iPad experience for a good price. This deal only adds to that.
