Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones came out two years ago, but they’re still an amazing choice. We give them a 95 in our first review thanks to features such as incredibly sharp and clear sound quality with a powerful base. Offering active noise cancellation, the M5 has doubled the number of microphones and processors while adding an optimizer to ensure you can truly block out the rest of the world. The headphones also have up to 30 hours of battery life, and you can get another three hours with just a three-minute charge.
Despite the improvements, the M5 is actually 0.14 ounces lighter than it his predecessor and has better weight distribution for a more comfortable experience. The overall look is sleeker, although one of the few downsides to the M5s is that they don’t fold up, so they can be a bit bulky to carry around.
