“Cosy” isn’t the first word that comes to mind in Tolkien’s Middle-earth of the Orcs and the Nazgul. And yet, Sweet tales is an upcoming convenient life sim set in the universe . It was a few months after the game developer Weta Workshop (who worked on the special effects for all six of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth films) and publisher with a new trailer, they’ve offered the first proper look at it.
While the clip is known for Hobbits’ “tales of courage and brave deeds in dark times,” it opens with a narration that notes that things will be lighter here. You and your Hobbit will explore the Bywater, decorate the house, make friends, cook, grow crops, go fishing (of course) and more. You’ll enjoy what appears to be a very cold existence in The Shire. The stylized, cartoony art style contributes to the warm atmosphere that Weta Workshop is trying to project.
