Logitech has introduced a new software tool called Logi AI Prompt Builder, which gives you quick access to ChatGPT features. You must first map a specific key on your keyboard or a button on your mouse to a tool within the Logi Options+ software. You can then use this key or button as a shortcut to invoke the quick builder whenever you need it.
When you invoke it, a tool window pops up filled with the text you highlighted. It already has functions or “recipes” you can use, such as Rephrase, Summarize, and Create Email, that will base its results on the text you choose. However, you can create your own recipes, including recipes that can generate images. You can adjust the length and pitch of the result from within each function until you get the one that suits your needs. If you use AI tools frequently, this can help prevent disruption to your workflow. If you don’t, maybe OpenAI hopes it can reduce friction and get you to use ChatGPT instead.
Logitech says that if you have keyboards and mice that support the English version of the Logi Options+ app, including MX, Ergo, Signature, and Studio Series devices, you can access the Logi AI Prompt Builder. But note that owning one of its newer models is no guarantee that you’ll be able to access it: The Verge They said they had to buy a new mouse as the 2022 M557 model was considered too old to access the tool.
One model sure to impress the quick builder is the newly released model Logitech Signature AI Edition Mouse, there is already a special button for this. You can get the accessory exclusively from its US and UK website starting this month for $49.99 and £54.99 respectively.
Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a custom keyboard A key to summon the copilot, which is powered by OpenAI technology. The company said Copilot keys will appear on new PCs arriving this spring, as well as future Surface devices.
