Instagram’s status update feature Notes will soon get more attention in the app. Until now, Notes were only visible from Instagram’s inbox, but short updates will soon appear on users’ profiles as well.
The change should increase the feature’s visibility and give people a new place to interact with their friends’ updates. (Instagram added a reply function to Notes back .) Notes are similar to Stories in that updates only stay for 24 hours, although they are only visible to mutual followers, so they don’t have to be shared as widely as a typical network or Stories post. The latest updates are another sign of how Meta is taking advantage of the feature it first introduced encouraging users to post more often to smaller, more select groups of friends.
Separately, the program also introduces a new “” feature allows users to create stickers from objects in their photos feature. On Instagram, these stickers can be shared to Stories or Reel. Clips can also be made from other users’ public posts, giving people a new way to remix content from others (Instagram (note that users can turn this feature off if they don’t want their content to be reused.)
