In a year full of rad fishing sims, Drainage was arguably the best. It came out in March 2023 and filled an old, eldritch-horror-shaped void in the year’s gaming catalog — and now there’s going to be a movie. Developer Black Salt Games and media company Story Kitchen they partner to transform Drainage turned into a live-action feature film. The opening line of the project is: “Think The Sixth Sense on the water. A ground-breaking atmospheric space horror blend of HP Lovecraft and Ernest Hemingway.” It’s not. no description Drainage As a video game, it looks like we’re off to a great start.
like a movie Drainage will probably focus less on inventory management, boat upgrades and non-stop seabed trawling, and more on the game’s Lovecraftian water monsters and moody, foggy atmosphere. Story Kitchen is the production company behind a number of current video game adaptations, including video game adaptations Sifu live action film and Vampire survivors animated series. There is no word on the duration Drainage movie, but it’s likely to suddenly emerge from the metaphorical depths when we least expect it.
