Take Me To The Moon is a comedy-drama from Columbia Pictures and apple that goes behind the scenes NASA As he prepares for the Apollo 11 mission, he tries to improve his image. A trailer makes it look like a light, fun time at the movies, though conspiracy theorists might have a field day with one of the major plot points.
Scarlett Johansson stars as Kelly Jones, a PR specialist hired by NASA to improve public perception before the launch. Along with butting heads with launch director Cole Davis (Channing Tatum) and turning the crew into global celebrities, Kelly is tasked with a particularly difficult task: secretly creating a fake version of the moon landing if the mission goes sideways.
The rest of the cast, which also includes Woody Harrelson, looks solid. For one thing, the delightful Jim Rash (Community) plays Stanley Kubrick, director of the fictional Moon Landing. The film is directed by Greg Berlanti Love, Simon and a number of DC Comics TV shows.
Take Me To The Moon will arrive in theaters on July 14, nearly 55 years later .
