Anker sells the headphones for $100, though they often sell for less than that; For the past two months, they have usually gone For $59 on Amazon. This is the lowest price ever for Anker’s wallet-friendly wireless headphones.
We like the Space A40 for combining pleasant sound with powerful active noise cancellation (ANC) and most of the features you’ll find in more expensive headphones. It is not as strong as the ANC higher level couples whom Sony’s WF-1000XM5, especially when it comes to mutes and other high-range sounds, but still punches well above its price range. It will automatically adjust to the noise level of your surroundings, although you can also manually set it to different intensity levels.
While it’s not the most detailed-sounding set of headphones you can buy, it’s a more enjoyable listen than most budget-level options we’ve tested. It punches the upper bass range out of the box, but doesn’t sound bloated or sloppy. If you don’t like the default sound profile, you can choose from several EQ presets or customize the EQ curve yourself via Anker’s companion app.
The actual headphones are lightweight and comfortable, with an IPX4 water resistance rating that’s good enough to survive most workouts. They last about eight hours per charge, with another 40 hours available via a compact case that supports wireless charging. They can also connect to two devices at the same time. There are still some compromises: Microphones are average for phone calls; touch-based controls are a bit limited; and there’s no wear detection, so your music won’t automatically pause when you remove the earpiece. But at this price, the pros should outweigh the cons.
It comes as part of a discount wider sales on the included Anker headphones Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, the second in our guide, retails for $80. That’s $20 off. The Space A40 is better value, but this pair offers most of the same benefits for those who prefer a more AirPods-style design. Other in-ear and over-ear models are also discounted.
