Pixel phones just got next-gen call screening


Google has just announced that some of its Pixel phones are getting a next-generation call screen. It improves upon the pre-existing Call Screen feature by implementing a new Hello button. After clicking, the system will deploy Google Assistant to speak for you.

A digital assistant will ask the caller why they’re trying to reach you, and you’ll be able to hear the answer in real time. If it sounds important, you can hang up and start over. If not, you can put them away and go back to watching TV.

Now Google Assistant but the “Hello” button gives the user the ultimate control over when the verification process starts. If you still can’t reach the phone, you also have the option to tell the caller to wait a moment. In addition to the real-time element, the tool of these demonstrations to read at your leisure. The new Call Screen update is only available for Pixel Fold and Pixel 6 and newer phones.

It’s part of a larger March rollout of features for Pixel phones. Google’s smartphones will now be able to share 10-bit HDR videos directly to Instagram without any processing required. This is similar to the approach Samsung took recently

The reduction in features also expands the company’s capabilities to Pixel 7 smartphones. As the name suggests, it allows people to search for items by simply drawing a circle around the object. The tool was previously only available to Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24 users.
