GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy group, has released its first annual report on the video game industry. It found that about 20 percent of all gamers in the U.S. identify as LGBTQ, but only 2 percent of games include LGBTQ characters and storylines. And maybe half of them Baldur’s Gate 3 alone (Just kidding.) The report notes that not only does representation matter to many LGBTQ gamers, but a new generation of gamers are increasingly open to queer content, regardless of their sexual orientation.
