We haven’t officially reviewed the latest Echo Show 8, but it looks a lot like 2021’s second-generation model. the best smart display For Alexa users. It still offers a 1280 x 800 resolution panel and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The design is largely the same, although the rounded back of the new model is slightly less pronounced and the glass on its front extends from the edge. Its front-facing camera is also in the center of the top edge instead of on the right, so it’s a little more convenient to frame yourself during video calls. Internally, there is an improved octa-core processor, which speeds up the execution of Alexa requests, and the new model work with In addition to Matter, other smart home devices that use Zigbee and Thread protocols. Amazon also promises improved sound quality, although you shouldn’t expect deep sub-bass or ultra-wide with such a small speaker.
All of this should keep the Echo Show 8 in the sweet spot in Amazon’s smart display lineup. It is not so profitable Echo Show 5, but it’s faster and louder with a superior camera and larger screen for displaying photos and making video calls. It’s not that big Echo Show 10, but is significantly cheaper and easier to place in more rooms around the house. Either way, you can use it to check the weather, prepare recipes, or stream music, among other typical Alexa tasks. While no smart display like this is truly privacy-friendly, the Echo Show 8 at least has a built-in camera cover and microphone mute button.
