For iPhone owners, there’s no better option than AirTags to track your belongings, as they can use Apple’s massive Tap My network to help locate lost objects.

AirTags’ ability to use crowd-sourced location data from the millions of Apple devices currently in operation means you have a really good chance of tracking down anything that goes missing. But we often lose things somewhere in our homes, and Find My has a Find My feature on iPhones that’s perfect for when an object is somewhere nearby. Using the Tap My app, you can ping the tracker so it will play a sound and the app will lead you to the lost item with directional arrows, even showing you how many feet away it is.
The battery in the tracker lasts about a year, so you don’t usually have to worry about it running out. Only one CR2032 coin cell battery is required when ready to change. There’s also a downside to the AirTags design – there’s no built-in key loop or way to attach to another item, so if you want to attach it to something, you’ll need to buy an accessory. And there are many there.
AirTags are IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, and you can use them to track 32 items in the Find My app. You just need to own an Apple device to use their tracking capabilities.
