LG’s Labs department often takes technology and existing products and turns them into hard-hitting lifestyle ideas and concepts. LG Labs was responsible Dukebox, a vacuum tube-driven speaker with a transparent OLED screen, the LG Gram with two displays, and several other projects. But the LG Bon Voyage concept trailer is a little more compelling, and features LG’s “greatest hits” from CES, which is both incredibly convenient and… impossible.
The dimensions of the trailer are two meters by 3.8 meters and a height of up to 2.2 meters. LG explanation offers you to pick and choose which appliances and features are included.
This is LG’s updated concept trailer, this time it received feedback from customers (though it never went on sale, so we have to say prospective customers). The redesign is focused on making better use of space, and there’s LG technology in practically every corner.
The touch panel on the trailer door runs on webOS, offering an interface for the trailer along with relevant information such as weather, load capacity and more. A spokesperson said of the concept trailer here CES 2024 It had a 10 kWh battery.
LG Labs’ inexplicable capsule coffee machine, DuoboIt is nestled in a trailer next to a microwave oven that looks like a ship that landed on the moon. But it enters the refrigerator from the outside. On the other side of the door is an induction hob built into a drop-down table. This trailer may have more food options than your home. There was a water purifier somewhere inside, although I couldn’t see it, and a set of removable light bars can be mounted outside the trailer for when you really want to spend time outdoors.
A blast from past CES, LG was included Styler device — a clothes freshener that scrubs and steams clothes in the trailer too, because you can’t glamp without glamour. There is also a shower and toilet, but no connected technology, as far as I can tell.
LG is thinking of including solar power to power all this tech, but there’s a giant charging port on the back. It will need a lot of power. Apart from the lifestyle devices, the left side of the Bon Voyage has a huge OLED screen above another drop-down surface. Oh, and in the back of the trailer is a portable karaoke set with two wireless microphones and speakers. Oh and cocktail dresses on either side. Do I have to repeat myself? Glamping.
LG plans to continue developing Bon Voyage. And if Sony can make a car, why can’t LG make a trailer?
